Legendary composer Nobuo Uematsu is set to compose the main theme song for the upcoming sequel to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which marks the final part of the Remake trilogy.

In a special talk session featuring Uematsu, Tetsuya Nomura, and Kazushige Nojima discussing Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Nomura hinted at Uematsu’s return. Since Uematsu worked on the main theme songs for both Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Nomura suggested it’s likely he’ll return for the sequel and the trilogy’s conclusion.

While it’s not officially confirmed, Nomura expressed his confidence in Uematsu’s involvement. Uematsu graciously accepted, stating it would be an honor to return.

Nomura also revealed that he and Nojima are already busy working on the main theme song for the final part of the trilogy. Uematsu expressed his gratitude for being invited to contribute and joked about needing a vacation before taking on the challenge.

Having composed incredible tracks for both Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, fans eagerly anticipate Uematsu’s musical contributions to the trilogy’s grand finale.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, released in 2024, is an action role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix, exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
