Ubisoft Toronto has hinted that they might reveal a remake of Splinter Cell at the upcoming Ubisoft Forward event in June 2024.

Their Facebook page got a makeover with a new cover image and profile picture, which got fans buzzing about the possible Splinter Cell reveal during Ubisoft Forward. While it could be just a coincidence, many believe the update was to tease the remake.

We don’t know much about the Splinter Cell remake yet. A few years back, developers discussed how they’re not just giving it a fresh coat of paint. They’re rebuilding the game from scratch with new high-quality graphics and adding in new tech and gameplay ideas to make it stand out.

The AI is getting a major upgrade too, with enemies showing different behaviors based on their abilities and roles. Plus, there’ll be modern graphical touches like ray-tracing to enhance the stealth experience.

The original Splinter Cell, featuring NSA agent Sam Fisher voiced by Michael Ironside, was a hit inspired by games like Metal Gear and developed using Unreal Engine 2. Originally for Xbox, it later came to other platforms.

There was even a side-scrolling version for handheld devices. A remastered edition dropped for PlayStation 3 in 2011, followed by Xbox.

Exciting times ahead for stealth game fans!
