The past 24 hours have been a whirlwind of speculation surrounding the Xbox Showcase, and now Tom Warren from The Verge has shed light on the inclusion of this year’s Call of Duty installment, Black Ops Gulf War, in the event.

Insider Gaming can affirm this report, indicating that the game’s unveiling is planned to occur before the showcase through a more conventional approach, distinct from the Warzone platform. Unlike recent years where Call of Duty titles were unveiled within the live environment of the free-to-play Battle Royale, Black Ops Gulf War is slated for a pre-Summer Games Fest reveal in June.

Expectations are high for the showcase to offer a comprehensive look into the game, possibly featuring a campaign mission walkthrough if adhering to traditional methods. Details regarding its multiplayer aspects are anticipated around August, with insights into the zombies mode to follow suit.

Scheduled for release in October, Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War is poised to deliver an open-world campaign experience, with Raven Software overseeing development, while multiplayer and zombies components are under the purview of Treyarch Games.

Furthermore, discussions with sources suggest that Xbox is preparing for an announcement regarding its expanded game library post-Activision Blizzard acquisition. This implies that Black Ops Gulf War might just be the tip of the iceberg in terms of Call of Duty-related revelations anticipated in June.
