Developer CD Projekt Red has disclosed that Cyberpunk 2077 still harbors Easter eggs waiting to be uncovered by players.

During an interview with IGN at GDC 2024, associate game director PaweĊ‚ Sasko revealed that, despite the game being scrutinized by players for three years since its release, there remain hidden surprises yet to be unearthed.

While Cyberpunk 2077 has received numerous updates, including the substantial story expansion Phantom Liberty, Sasko hinted that these Easter eggs are not confined to the additional content but are woven into the fabric of the base game itself.

Sasko expressed, “I’ve seen one of the last articles [with all the Easter eggs] and it had a long list, but it didn’t have everything,” noting that this doesn’t necessarily mean these secrets remain undiscovered, but rather that they may not have been shared publicly.

He elaborated further, stating, “There’s a couple more things that are not found yet. [At least] we don’t know that they were found, because someone could have found them in their home and never shared them with anyone, and we just never saw it.”

Despite Sasko’s reluctance to provide hints regarding the remaining Easter eggs, he confirmed that the telephone, previously used by CD Projekt Red to conceal secrets in the Phantom Liberty expansion, still harbors some unrevealed numbers.

Cyberpunk 2077 boasts a plethora of other Easter eggs, many of which have been discovered in recent months. Notable discoveries in March 2024 include a main menu Easter egg that scrambles the version number into 2.0.77, as well as a secret photo of the development team.

Recent references within the game include a fittingly on-brand secret message and an intriguing Easter egg wherein CD Projekt Red founders impart players with a lesson on the company’s history.

However, the most enigmatic mystery lies in a peculiar code present in Cyberpunk 2077 since its launch. Comprising strange letters and symbols, this mystery has transcended the game and seeped into CD Projekt Red’s other franchise, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Despite a dedicated Reddit page with 24,000 members actively seeking its meaning, the true purpose of this cryptic code remains elusive.
