The TV show, set in 2296, differs from the 2010 game’s setting in 2281 and mentions events, such as the destruction of Shady Sands in 2277, that seem to contradict the game’s narrative.

Bethesda design director Emil Pagliarulo addressed the issue on social media, but fans remain skeptical about the changes. As the series has been well-received and season 2 seems likely, how the show will handle the story moving forward remains to be seen.
