Following its acquisition by Microsoft last year, Blizzard has been allowed to operate independently and focus on its own strengths. Holly Longdale, executive producer and vice president of World of Warcraft, stated that Microsoft’s support has been beneficial, providing Blizzard access to information and advice from other successful studios such as Mojang and the Elder Scrolls Online team. This collaboration has helped enhance Blizzard’s development processes. Longdale praised Microsoft’s approach, which allows Blizzard to continue excelling with little interference. Microsoft’s $68.7 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard includes major franchises such as Call of Duty, Warcraft, and Diablo. Recently, Blizzard announced the World of Warcraft: The War Within Collector’s Edition.
